Bleeding in between my period

I have bleeding in between my period what is the problem?

Response
Bleeding in between your periods needs to be investigated. If it occurs regularly around the time of ovulation (roughly mid-cycle) then it may be a result of the release of the egg from the ovary. However, infection needs to be excluded as does the unlikely possibility of anything more serious. Hormonal contraception can also cause bleeding in between your periods. This is common enough to be normal in the first three packs of the combined pill and can persist with progestogen-only types of contraception, either the mini-pill, injection or implant. However, before this, or ovulation bleeding can be presumed to be the cause, examination and investigation is necessary to exclude any other reason. See your doctor.
