I've had glandular fever, how long I should leave it until I get close to my boyfriend

01 July 2004
I have had glandular fever for the past three weeks and I am now beginning to feel a lot better. My throat isn't as sore and my headaches have gone, with my energy coming back now. I was just wondering how long I should leave it until I get close to my boyfriend as I really would not want him to be infected with this.

We don't always understand how infectious glandular fever is. It doesn't seem as straightforward as catching a cold from a friend. Your boyfriend may already be immune, or he could develop the illness as the virus is transmitted through the air (coughs and sneezes) as well as direct contact such as kissing. The incubation period is 4-6 weeks. Either way, I would think you can get close to your boyfriend now.
