Lump on the testicle

01 August 2002
My boyfriend has noticed on his right testicle there is what he describes as like a cross between a blister or a bee sting. theres a hair that seems to stick out of it and he says its painful when he touches it. What do you think this could be? We're both virgins so it cant be a sexually trasmitted disease.

Response
Any lump on the testicle needs to be examined by a doctor urgently. However it is not clear whether the lump you mention is on the testicle or the skin covering the testicles (scrotum).

The scrotum, like other areas of skin is prone to a number of dermatological conditions, and what you are describing may be just inflammation around a hair follicle.

I would suggest you take a look at our pictures of normal male genitalia, and if the problem hasn't resolved, visit your doctor as soon as possible.
